Portugal

concept: Portugal is a country that still lives in the memory of what is said to be a brilliant and sucessfull past; a past of travels in the seven seas, discoveries of new worlds and routes and... sadly, a history of colonization and loss of many lives... you have it all in this photmanipulation I did.

I chose this theme because I was asked to represent my country in a deviation. I chose the discovery's time because it is what is always chosen by our government to depict the symbol of our country in every single event we have around here. latest example was the Euro.

I also wanted to combine this with a particular legend of our country, related to one man, a king that disappeared in a fight overseas, and is expected to return home in the mist... it is the same story I've told you about the country living in the past, if you notice...

In photoshop I also used some filters, to make the water even more stormy, the sky even more menacing and added a sun glimpse there, too.

---> I am amazed on how quickly I did this considering that it is about th 5th photomanip I did. and I even won a contest with it! So, the next time you want to say you won't try something new because it's new and you know nothing about it just shut up...and try it!
and the best way to go is with a good idea of what you want to do and, of course, some awesome resources!!! Like the ones I used for this work!

thank you, once again, to `znow-white, for inviting me to step out my comfort zone. it has been the most wonderful thing to do. I've also started to work on another thing: emotes.
